The route “Around Lobor and the Western Ivanščica” is a moderately challenging ride that combines nature and archaeology. Lobor is known as an important site with traces of life from prehistory, the Roman era and the early Middle Ages. From the town, you climb toward the western slopes of Ivanščica, the highest mountain in the area, passing a mix of villages, fields and forested areas along the way. The route features the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Mountain, one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in northern Croatia, situated on a rise on the slopes of Ivanščica. The climbs open up views of the surrounding hills and villages, while the varied terrain makes each section unique. The route is named after Lobor and Ivanščica, the slopes of which it traverses, connecting them into a unique cycling experience.
