Bedeković Route

The “Bedeković” route takes you through a hilly landscape with constant climbs and descents, requiring a steady pedaling rhythm. Along the way, you pass by the castle in Gornja Bedekovčina with its landscaped park, and then reach the Bedekovčina Lakes, a spot for rest, fishing and socializing. The lakes are also known for summer events, notably Štruklijada, when all the flavors of Zagorje can be sampled in one place. The route is accompanied by vineyards, the scents of the fields and views that open from the hills onto the valleys. The alternation of gentler stretches and shorter climbs gives the ride a dynamic rhythm, while a rest by the lakes rewards you with a sense of relaxation. The route is named after the old noble Bedeković family, which left a deep mark on the region’s history, and today their legacy can be explored by bike, amid nature, tradition and local stories.
